I am having the problem stated in the topic. I have been playing on a fresh install of Titanium over a month and this is the second time this has happened now. I find a server I like and play on it for a while, and then all of a sudden one day it decides to not let me log in.
I click log in to server and it holds for a bit, then takes me back to the username log in screen. Upon entering my password again and clicking log in, a screen comes up at the server selection saying "Error 1017: Cannot login to the Everquest server. You may need to re-run the update patch. Repeatedly seeing this message indicates a loss of connectivity to the patch server. This is usually temporary."
However I am able to log into other servers and play on them. I would really like to play on the server I want to. Any information would be very useful.
Thanks

Try sending a message to the operator of the server. They may have been experiencing difficulties.

Most servers limit the amount of players able to get on at one time, this would be the error you get when you try to login when there at the limit.
The error could be caused by many other things, but this is the most common reason.

I have talked to the admins and they aren't having any problems. Also there hasn't been many people on the server. I had logged on when there was at least 10 people before, and I can't even log on when there are 3 on. So I don't think its that.

Someone help plz find this bug and squash it! Thank you in advance!

Drythe, have you tried other servers? See if the same results come up on other servers.

Well, if other servers are working fine, then its a issue with that server. We dont have specifc control over every server, so you cant just say someone solve the problem. What is the name of the server that is giving you the issue, like Jest, PEQ:TGC, Rathe, RPG Friends, ect...

I know this isn't for server support posts, but I thought I'd chime in from the server side. Some of the clients logging into my server are having this trouble, and I'll be darned if I can figure out why.
I tried switching from dynamic zones to static, that seemed to help a bit. But every day there seems to be people getting stuck. I don't have the number of players "limited" (don't even know how to limit it...) There's no error being raised in the log files (no event errors logged in windows).
On the world screen, it shows them as a new client, then they just seem to hang (some times the get to char select..) Oddly enough, not everyone is having this problem, but the ones that are say they're ok on other servers (no one on my side of the server is having the problem...)
And they'll be people logged on, having no problems while others are seemingly locked out. There doesn't seem to be any magic number for this either. Could be 1 person on, could be 6 on... Restarting the zone they're in seems to have no affect. They've assured me they have the right clients, and the world seems to be identifying them correctly.
I'm not sure if this post helps or not. I would like to find a fix for this as well though, I'll keep searching...

Could possible be a network or bandwidth issue. What kinda connection do you have. You could in theroy have awsome connection, but if your on public internet (ie Cable, DSL) your ISP may be having badwidth issues. It could be a multitude of things, but if your not getting any errors, I could say that it would be network related. But then again, this is just entierly a assumption, with no facts to back it up directly, just a theroy.
