Yep its paid for and we will always use it.

Why? Because the developers decided it was the most secure.

I've never cared for vBulletin. I am a phpbb fanboy. :)

I think Vbulletin is pretty cool, it's been the easiest for me to figure out - was even going to get me a copy, tell I saw the price (almost had a hear-attack!). I guess nice things cost money :(

phpbb is a hackers gft, its so hackable and all there fixes open up new ways to hack it.

This forum software is paid for and we havent been hacked since we got it (and there has been tries made)

It's good to know vBulletin is secure. Oh, and the only other board I know that can be compared to this is IPB (Invision Power Board). I've had it for 2+ years and I've never been hacked. Tried hacking it myself once... no success :D.

I've been running Vbulletin myself on one of my sites for about 2 years. I love it and have never been hacked either.

That's a good point. I like phpbb because I am low-profile, and have no clue if someone "hacked" me. What would they get? My member list? They can have it. But here, I can see the need to be more secure, indeed.

Phpbb3 is trying to surpass all the security flaws of it predecessor. But I understand why this board will stay vb. Besides, it's already paid for. May as well continue using it.
