Old Server?

Has anyone succeeded in making an eq server which contains some of the old things we all loved, (boats, etc)? And maybe the old plane of air?

Ps...also, Sony made a live server like this, called the combine/sleeper...

i think its kinda impossible, but there is a way to setup a server like progression, the person who controls the server will have to be on alot tho, like make a main boss, if they kill it, they proceed to next expansion, either the gm has to be on for proof of kill, or make a message boards * website for server *, and have them post a screenshot , etc... of dead body, and that kinda stuff

boats dont work and probably never will.

Otherwise you can make a fully automated progression server using the perl quest fetures as well as the flagging system.

(must kill mobs a,b,c to be flagged for zones X,y,z)

One boat (surprisingly) appears to be working - at least in a floating and carrying a passenger sense. Go to Nedaria's Landing. There's a boat out there you can stand on, and it moves around. The problem really lies in the whole zoning and having a boat waiting for you on the other side.

It would be nice to have working boats again, but honestly, how many of us despised boat travel when it was our only option?
