The wierdest problem

Okey, i accidentally patched, and so i got out my eqgame.exe, eqmain.dll, and eqgfx_dx8.dll file i backed up, and go to play a server... except... alot of text in the game says ERROR: String not found(#####) (numbers there)...

Now i might be missing some file from my backup, any ideas? Because it's not just one server, it's all of em, and it's really annoying, because i cant see anything, and even the corpses are called ERROR:String not found(####)... pretty messed up. I'll edit with a ss added if i can upload it.

Oh and when i con something, i get dumped right to desktop, doesn't even unload graphics settings (still have the gamma adjusted). Here's a ss

are you playing with a localized version of eq ( ie french , russian german korean ) ?

no, altho it might be trying to do that... pretty sure you have to do something funny to make a change to the language tho, and i don't think i did anything funny, altho i might have... How would i go about checking that?

And would that explain the crashing when i con something?

you didnt back up eqtext.txt

it was changed in patch too.

Well, damn, what a silly thing to make a game unstable...

Eqtext.txt is techically not wares bec just text file but might be wrong. image? any admin? whats your thinking on this?

If you cant make it yourself (like you can with eqhost.txt or any other SMALL txt file) then it is warez.

just wait for 0.3.4 and we can all patch fully. if you do NOT have a complete EQ dir backup then i feel sorry for you. we have been telling you to do it since the start and say it every single patch. its not our fault you didnt back everything up :)

Well, I did, except i was having problems and i couldn't connect, so i thought i needed to patch, turns out i caught that secret patch and get screwed that way. i forgot i backed up the 3 main files in zip and just patched the whole thing... oigh...

not sure but my guess would be that the eqtxt_en.txt has not changed since luclin , but I may be wrong
