I bought EQ Titanium just recently and did a fresh install, afterwards I carefully followed the directions to connect & play EQEmu.

Sadly, when I launch the game I am encountering an error. The game boots and I make it to the User Agreement window. Upon clicking yes, I recieve an error saying "DirectX 6.0 or higher is required to play, please update..." etc.

I did some searching and completed the following:

*Re-downloaded and installed the latest version of DirectX (9.0c).
*Updated video card drivers.

And yet I'm continuing to encounter the same problem. Could anyone suggest any ideas that may help me? Thank you :)

Go to start->RUN and type dxdiag and tell us what version it says you have of Direct X.

Also more info, what Vid card, OS, etc are you using?

If dxdiag shows you using DX 9.0c we'll try some more things. If it says anything else try installing it again.

NOTE: If you are running Vista even though you have DX10 by default you still have to install 9.0c.

Thank you for the response paaco!

I ran dxdiag as you said, here is a bit of my information:

-Windows XP Home Edition (5.1, Build 2600)
-VistionTek RADEON X1300 (video card)
-DirectX 9.0c

I also checked to make sure my Hardware Acceleration is on full, and tried installing another driver, though I still haven't been able to fix the problem =/

Download the April SDK of DirectX from here.
hxxp://www.microsoft.com/downloads/details.aspx?familyid=d2e2cae1-6aef-4a40-bd00-f0fb2a71e99f&displaylang=en
(change hxxt to http obviously)
Also make sure your video card is updated with the newest Drivers from ATI. Which is version 7.3 and can be found here.
hxxp://ati.amd.com/support/drivers/xp/radeonx-xp.html

After trying these 2 things let us know how it goes.

I tried that version of DirectX and nothing changed, so I also tried DX versions from April 2006 and April 2005.

I currently have that driver installed, but I re-downloaded it anyway to try again, but I'm still receiving the same error :(

Aha I figured it out!!!
My EQEmu shortcut was set to:
"C:\Program Files\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme
(which is directed at the folder containing my 1999 EQ installation I've been toying with)

And my Titanium client is located at:
"C:\Program Files\Sony\EverQuest\eqgame.exe" patchme

Oye, such a simple mistake. Thank your time and assistance paaco.
