Could someone try and log into the "Angelox Classic Challenge" server and post here what happened?
I think it's not working, but seems to when I try.

Thanks!

You are correct, it does not appear to be working. Try removing all the "I want to be on the top of the list" characters and propose a plain ol text name? Haah!

I'll be cruising around if you need another test.

edit: what timezone is this forum in, and why does it think it's 12:08am (8 hours from now?) darned euros and their clocks!

Thanks John - It used to work before, (with the characters), and I can log in from here - probably something I screwed up.
Anyways, Rathe Server works fine, It's on commercial bandwidth and is just like the classic only the PoK books are active together with the ubber zones. I was just wondering cause someone told me they were having trouble. My server is is just with DSL, which works fine, so long as no one else in the house is downloading or doing something like that.
I'm wondering if the LAN will work - could you go here;
http://www.nahunta.org/~angelox/ipfix/ , set your IP then try login to the LAN? (back up your eqhost.txt file before you use mine).
If that works, it's enough for testing new stuff and all I need for working with ( the few people who emailed me can play like that).

This also does not appear to be working. Got the new eqhosts.txt file, created an account, used that name and pwd to log in... client just hangs, then bounces back to login after 30s or so.

Same thing happens to me. Really hope you get it to work, would love to play classic. Nothing else seems worth playing. Thanks again!

Same here, it was fine but I could not (and currently can't) connect.

This is funny - it all just went from "working" to "not working" for no apparent reason. I can see where you set your ips, so that works fine. I can log in from here off a client machine, so EqEmu must be working ok too.
It must be related to my Server, I think I'll shut down the Firewall for today and see if that changes anything - I have all the right ports cleared, but maybe something changed - If anyone wants to try now and say what happens.
BtW you don't need to make new accounts, if you had an old account on the server, that you used via eqemuloggin server, it will still be accessible. The "password" and "minilogin_ip" columns, are only used by Minilogin, so there's no interference there.

Ax, I can check it again later, but it will be 9+ hours for me til I get back home.

I tried again on the lan server, same thing happens. Hopefully you will figure out the problem. Thanks!

Ok so it's not the Firewall either - I need to get home too and see what else it might be.
I'll be home in about 5 more hours

Anyone around to test the server again? I made some changes. Still on Lan;

Looks like I am getting in! The loading screen is showing anyway. I'll make a char and you can see me inside. ;)

I am logging in a character as I type this message. Thanks for getting it to work!

Ahh! - problem was in my eqemu_config.xml - I was swapping back and forth from Public to Mini a lot (easier to test stuff on Mini) - I got these lines screwed up in one of the changes:
<!-- Only specify these two if you really think you need to. -->
<address>blackwater.dynip.com</address>
<localaddress>192.168.2.105</localaddress>

That's the way they should be; address is your dns and local address your lan ip (not local ip).
I had changed to lan ip for dns and localhost ip for local.

It will probably work like that public too, but I'm not going to set public anymore, as it's much easier(faster) to do database work on a MinIlogin setup.

Thanks for the help!

Hiya folks!

I have a private server set up myself, and switch back and forth also.

Just a thought, what I did was created a directory for backups, with two subdirectories inside it, one labelled for when I am networked and one for when I am offline. I then set up the eqemu_config.xml and loginserver.ini for each circumstance, then copied them whole and entire into the respective directories.

Now, when I am swtiching from one setup to the other, I just copy/paste both files from whichever directory I am switching to and overwrite whichever on I am switching from in my eqemu root directory. Then, just change my eqhosts ip and bam! I am in.

Helps a lot for those really late night sessions when I am so tired I am crosseyed and miskeying 8 ways from Sunday ;)

And let me toss a big thank you for the ax_classic db...is what I am using and it is simply the bee's knees ;)
