Hi, I just started playing around with EQEmu, but I've noticed something rather odd. My computer seems to be running everquest at an extremely fast rate like my character travels at an extremely fast pace, much beyond the normal everquest speed. Character animations are also extremely sped up so NPCs when they move to do their breating animation, look like they're hyperventilating. I've tried several servers to see if it was the first server I tried, but it's not. Any help as to how to fix this would be extremely appreciated.

I just had a similar issue with the game speed. Only difference was mine was switching between frozen, normal speed and uber speed at seemingly random intervals. In all honesty, it was remarkably like the cinematography used to film the American version of 'The Ring'... that creepy 'jerk motion'. Once the coolness factor passed, it became annoying.

What I did was restart my server machine and my machine I had the client running on. I checked the eqclient.ini (I think thats the name) and all the way at bottom there are 3 different places that have the game window resolution. Mine were different, so I made them all the same (1024x700 -> Yes I am running Widescreen). That seemed to fix the issues.

Hope it helps.

Are you using an AMD machine Veridis? They have issues on windows XP using AMD Dual Cores... causes EQ, among other things, to go rediculously fast and do some wierd stuff... If you have an AMD Dual Core on Windows XP, do a google search as suggested here : http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/showthread.php?t=23228&highlight=Duel+Core

And download the hotfix and/or AMD patch... Should fix your problems, solved mine anyways.

I'm currently running an Intel T2500 core duo processor. So, I don't think that the AMD issues would effect me. I tried deleting the eqclient.ini, but that didn't seem to work out. I now noticed that the game is quite jerky like Damilis described it. I'm going to try searching the EQ forums to see if there's similar post to my issue and updating my graphics card drivers. Oh yeah, I'm simply running a client and not my own server if that is of any relevence. Thanks for the help though.

Did you check out the bottom of the eqclient.ini or just delete it? If the latter, then just check the very end of that file to see if all 3 resolutions are the same. If not, set them all to the same. That worked for me.

Yeah, I did both. I started looking into the dual core issue and found the windows hotfix. Luckily that seemed to fix the problem. Thanks for the help!
