These are the configs files for all of the zones in EQ (150). Some of you may question the fact that they are 388 instead of 384 like the 0.3.3.x series. This is because with the recent 05.12.02 patch they added four blank bytes to the end of the NewZone_Struct. But these files *WILL* work with 0.3.3 and later version of EQEmu! =) So enjoy or something like that =P

why are there 388 instead of 384 like the 0.3.3.x series?

Thanks, now I have a lot of cfg file goodness :p

Na....I'll keep them at bay!

Thanks for the .cfg files!

Call me we'll do Lunch.

ps. For those that don't know Lunch is the name of a midget from a local midget tossing contest!

What data does the cfg files contain? I think I read somewhere that it has the pathing in it, but is that correct and is that all? I also read they aren't even used yet. Just curious and looking for some clarification, thanks.

yeah I'm kinda curious too. I think I read you can change the
spawn types in each zone 2. eg. no more female humans will
replace a cyclops in freportw.

The cfg files have things like safe spot, sky color, is it raining, clouds... Check the #help GM commands I think. There are commands to set and override the settings in the cfg file.

rubydefiance, your thinking of the .map files that don't exist yet.

baltar, nope. will not effect anything like that.

k i have worked on a server before and well when we zoned into it we went falling for a very long time. and the safe point setting in the database didnt help this when we zoned in they still fell from the sky.
just woundering could i change the settings in this file and make it so when i zone into the area there is a difrent safepoint the the one that was preset and get rid of this falling from the sky . and is this even used in the everquest folder or is it a file from the emu ( and i wouldnt doubt if i sound like a stupid fool right about now but please inform me im trying to learn :D )

EQEmu by DEFAULT uses the DB safe coords. So you will need to try and use the CFG save coords, they are all correct.

Thanks Leynu, so how we do that? Do we just delete the db safe coords? If not, how do we read the coords out of the CFG files?

Well what i think is that we should replace the cordanates. Not delete them. Just a guess but you could dump your db in dos type
mysqldump (DATABASE NAME HERE) > (NAME OF FILE YOU WANT TO DUMP IT INTO).SQL
then
just open up the sql file with notepad and replace the cordanets with the one from the cfg file.

Not 100% sure but you may be able to open the file with notepad ( note not wordpad because word pad is based on text only and even simple things look messed up in it. and if that dosnt work then maybe he has a special program out there for the use of this feature.
- Hope i helped out even a little bit

Did the PacketCollector stop working with the latest patches? I no longer seem to get items or zone cfg files anymore. Which is bad since I spent the last few days hunting in the new CT.

These are not text files. They do not open readable in either notepad or wordpad (by the way liz you have it backwards notepad is text only. wordpad supports rtf format among others).

It appears to me that they are some form of a binary.

SO HERE is the question. How do I use them? I have created a subfolder under my old cfgs and copied all my originals to it. Extracted the new cfgs to the cfg subdirectory. I see no changes in the way the emu acts. I still do not automatically zone from quynos hills to surefall gade when I reach the end of the tunnel. And if I try to go to runny-eye I fall through a hole in the ground untill I type #flymode to stop followed by a #goto 0 0 0.

Again just incase I burried the Question. How do I activate the cfgs?

By the way I would like to know whos Idea it was to set the safe coordinates for Crushbone to be right in front of Crushbone Keep. That is not a safe point.
