I am new at this and already had the newest patch of EQ w/o a backup. Couldn't I just reinstall the oringinal Kunark and never patch? Then just play Kunark offline by myself. That not work?

I actually tried to do this but Im not sure if I was doing it correct.
When I loaded EQW i got to the old EULA, hit "I Agree" and then get dropped to windows with the error.

DirectInput keyboard open failed!, code =80070005

I relize I can wait for the new version, but can't I just reinstall the most basic version and run a minilogon (offline)?

because that version on EQ probably needs an older version of EQW. besides that, it wont work anyway because packets change every patch (thats why theres so much of a delay). if all patches worked then you wouldnt need a new version of EQemu when thay patch, right? hehe

This person raises a good point, though. Does it make sense to set aside versions of EQEmu that work with "canned" versions of EQ? How many of us really need to use the latest and greatest version of the client?

No way to go back to earlier patch unless that patch was live on verants servers (because it requires packet logs to see how everything works). you can try to use older emu versions (like 0.2.0 was when luclin came out). but i doubt you would like the lack of features.

the point would be to make it work with basic luclin velious kunark original installation maybe :)
and after with PoP

Eaxctly. No "patch version" at all. Just wipe EQ off the HD, slap in the CD, install the game (without patching to current), install EQEmu, and go. A version of EQEmu that works with the version on the CD. As for Luclin features, so what? I think you'd be surprised at how many people would be happy running the Emu with the original client on the CD.

indeed but all luclin have so we could just use luclin as a base ( I cant remember if the game alone was bugged or if it was from servers )
