hello.. unfortuanatly (spelling idiot here).. my school has blocked almost ALL ports on the net, so i cant connect to EQEmu login server :???: are there any programs that can divert the connection through an official proxy server (like when using proxy server in IE (internet explorer), when i use that i can use all websites that it allows (which is all)... but i cant change the route i connect to EQ :-x)... I WANNA PLAY EQ... !!!
i hope it makes sense...

I am in a similar situation, I believe. At one time, I was able to log into EQ with no difficulty, but I have changed computers since then and now when I try to log in, even to the public servers, I am encountering problems.
First, the animation graphics in the character log area are jumpy and not functioning properly.
Second, there are many times that when I try to log in to even the character select, I am kicked back to the inital log in screen.
Finally, on the occasions that I can get to the character select, I try to log in and it kicks me out and back to the inital log in screen.
I really desire to play this game again and go back to some of the zones that I used to call home. Any help that could be offered would be excellent.
I also live on a college campus, so the school may have closed ports that were at one time open.

Even if you were able to point your login at a proxy, you must be able to directly connect to port 9000 of the world server you will be playing. That port number is a hard constant in the client that can't be set to use something different.
