Some of my friends have started up a classic server similar to ProjectEQ/EQClassic.
You can find all the information on it at the website, http://mrzioto.com/
They are still deciding on the ruleset and how some things are going to work, if you have any ideas or input, feel free to post on their forum. As of right now it is using a classic client based off of Trilogy (original, kunark, and velious) and the plans are to release with only level 50+original and scale up to kunark and velious as they finish the database for those expansions.
The server will feature some unique additions such as a pvp incentive points system with detailed listing on player, class, and guild stats.

Darkyth still around EQEMU :O??
Looks very interesting indeed, does it rival the other EQC project (in terms of completeness)? How long have you guys been working on it?

Hey Aquelin, long time no see! 8)
This project has been in development for a little over two weeks after we read a bit about the Project EQ / Classic EQ idea; we heard they were not taking a PvP route, but we still have a little bit of Guildwars/Lucidvision blood in us, so we decided to take the idea into a new direction.
We still have a lot of code to merge to make sure everything is up to date in terms of security and functionality, but we are already letting people in to start helping us make a list of bugs via functionality and database.

yeah , nice work. Dont forget about the LAN work being done for a classic everquest that EVERYONE will be able to have control of at www.kheprigames.com Also have a PublicLogin that everyone will have in their hands to be able to host their own Public Servers.

I also have a nicely working server/db operating on my system for this version as well as the client hosted on my server. Maybe we can collaborate Darkyth. I have been working on a database and it's very smooth... No item problems with world. Although I think the item structure needs to be rewritten, or converted. It's very crappy!
Btw, I don't remember this version ever having a loginserver :P We had to connect through eqw.

Oh lord, as soon as someone comes up with a good idea (IE: PEQ, GuildWars) a bunch of cloned miniprojects spit out of the ground!

It's ridiculous that the same idea is being split into three projects, especially since a lot of the work is trivial (just lengthy) and the information is scarce. I'm going to work on my server with Forza, but i'm going to work my code with PEQ instead of all of us doing things separately.
I had just been talking with tcs and he said he was trying to get in touch with Richardo, so hence: talk to me or him. ;p
