Hello, I just built a new system to add to the existing LAN we have set up.
A) computer is the work computer, no games.
B) is Computer for gaming (AMD based machine)
C) is Computer for gaming (INTEL Conroe based machine) <newly built>

Everything was fine until i added the new machine (C). I can play all day on the old machine (B), but when i try to connect to the server to play on the new machine (C) i get this:

Login screen -> put in Username and Password
Server Selection screen -> Hmm, lots of servers. I'll click on one and try to connect!
*TIMEOUT* --- Back to Login Screen.

Ive searched the forums and i know there are ports that need(ports 7000-7100 i believe) But does anyone have a fix? I would like to be able to play with my friend here.

Thanks.

Asuming that you have read and searched the forums. If this is minilogin have you updated the ip address of the new mahine in the databse for the account your trying to login in on that computer. It public login, make sure your "HOSTS" file is setup correctly for playing.

I'm not running the server.
I am trying to connect to any server in the global server list. Sorry for the confusion.

The next question would be what client are you using?

im using eqtitanium. Like i said, i have it working perfectly on one computer. I installed it the exact same way on the other machine. When it failed to work the first time, i reinstalled it the same way, and then when that failed, i just copied the entire folder over the network, to make sure i had the exact same files.. still, the same error.

it's so strange - i can see the servers, but i can't get to the character selection. It doesn't matter if the one computer is that works is running or not, i still get the error.

Do you have a firewall active on your new PC? if so, disable it and try. If you use a LAN/Router - usually the router already has a firewall, so don't need the software firewall comes with the OS. You also need to use "port triggering" feature on your router, for the ports needed

Hi again.
No firewall active.
How would I forward ports to both computers? I dont think it would let me forward port X to computer 1 and port X to computer 2... I could set up one machine in the DMZ of the router, but that wouldn't really help....I'd be stuck with the same problem, i fear.
