I'm not sure if this is the right forum for this, but since no one on irc will answer me, it's worth a shot here. I want to open and export the textures or even models from gequip.s3d, but it won't open using model viewer or eqsndrip. It just says "failed", though every other file will open. Is there some special trick to getting into this file?

Wow, weird. I just ran into this issue a couple of days ago trying to find weapon models. Sadly, I was unable to find a solution and have since completed my task. I am curious, as well if somebody has the answer.

oh if some brave and dedicated soul could make a weapon/shield/held item visual encyclopedia with correspanding ID number - that would be awsome =)

Do you mean how it looks in-game, or the item icons?

in game graphics of course =)
i use oldish Kayot db editor to look at icons list- thgotu a stand alot icon id number look up would be nice.

Working on it :-)
I have all of the icons for the Titanium client, and am working on extracting the icons for the later expansions (dragitem34.tga through dragitem59.tga, which should take us through icons # 2604). Unfortunately, I haven't found a good batch program to extract the 40px x 40px images from them, and make the background transparent, otherwise I'd probably be done by now :-)

technily speaking you don't need such complicated process =)
basicly I just thgout on this and realise I can do this in 30 seconds =)
I will simply take screenshots of Kayots icon table and make 1 large JPG file =)
may as well do it right now =)

Each one needs to be set with IT### in editors, but just the numbers ingame.

Well,
I'm in the process in creating a ingame screen capture of weapons and spell effects. This will either be screen shots or Divx of the spell animations.

Also, I too cannot load gequip.s3d, only WC may hold the key to the solution I'm afraid. All the others work as well..
