Okay, I was having resolution problems, and the game was giving me a eqgame.exe stopped working problem, so I lowered my res to 1024x768 from 1440x900. But I have run into another problem.

Eq launches fine, but its in window mode, I login, and select a server I know works cause my friends are on it. It loads the server, but all that comes up is the default avatar with Newbie [1 Warrior] above his head. Its the create character screen but I can't see anything more than him chillin' there, randomly punching and kicking. Flailing about like an idiot, which in turn leaves me flailing around like an idiot.

Please help

So, you are saying you don't see the UI with the buttons to create characters etc? Have you tried any other servers to see if you have that problem on all of them? And has eqemu ever worked for you in the past on other servers?

It hasn't I am working on a fresh install of titanium. I did the patchme, and the host change. I am unable to see the ui, or something. I dunno. I wanna play the evercrack like in the days of old.

Bit of an update, I reinstalled and did the configuration again and nothing. Still just loops the intro music, and a guy just stands there. It does this on ever server.

Could be a drivers issue, I had to roll my video drivers back a few versions to get EQEmu to work.

My guess is that the UI you are using is probably not compatible with Titanium. That could very well be the case if you are using an illegal copy of Everquest Titanium for your install. You need to have a legal copy of Titanium before we can give you support on these forums. Let me know if I am wrong, but that is what it sounds like to me. You can always try downloading a compatible UI if you can find one.

I am using a legal retail copy. A copy 2 of my friends used with no problem. Its running and they are playing.

Hmm, how did you change your everquest resolution? Did you edit one of the config files directly or did you run the everquest config exe file? If you edited a config file directly via notepad, maybe you removed something for UI files that needs to be there. I am running out of ideas here lol. It either has to be something related to your UI config or some kind of drivers issue. I would try the EQLive forums in support and see if there are issues with your video card or laptop. You may need to run older drivers for your video card. Also are you running directX 9 or 10? I am not sure if it works in 10 or not, I haven't heard anyone confirm that yet.

I am running an 8800 with the latest drivers dated dec of '07. I used the optionseditor.exe to change the resolution, to 1024x768 and set my monitor to that. I am going to try another driver. I am running XP, with dx 9.0c. Anyone have any ideas?

I am also experiencing the same problem on my laptop - my home computer running vista runs the game just fine. Im going to play with graphics drivers and see what happens.

Ok for an update - I went into the config file and figured out that the resolutions wern't lining up with each other - screen width was larger than screen resolution and Im assuming thats why I couldn't see the controls. I made them all the same res and everything works fine for me now.
