Need help with mysql

ok every time i try to do something with mysql i get this error



ERROR 1044: Access denied for user: '@localhost' to database 'peq'


i dont understand it

You need to create the actual account to use for editing your database and set the password. You can use root or create a new account. Either way, you will need something with a password:

set password for 'root'@'localhost' = OLD_PASSWORD('newpwd');
FLUSH PRIVILEGES;
exit;

Make sure to set 'newpwd' to whatever you want your root password to be.

Then you can login from command prompt with:

mysql -u root -p

And put in the password you just set when it asks you for one. This should let you do whatever you want with your database.
