Okay, so I have played EQ live for over 7 years and Im tired of haveing to raid and play like its a 2nd job. I want to try this, but I cant figure out how to set it up. I would like to join a server where you can do about anything i.e (Summon items, set your toon level/AA and goodies like that just to play arround) But im now sure how a person sets it up. I would appreceate any links or a detailed write up on how to go about just getting into a Emu server. Thanks much!

you might want to just run your own server for a while and do all those things your talking about. there are great guides on the wiki to help you set this up. Check em out :D

First things first. To play on an Emulator you MUST have an ACTUAL Titanium Release Version of Everquest. NO, you cannot Download it from a Bit Torrent or any other place, it WILL NOT WORK!!!

Get that Version which is available on EBay or Amazon and then read this section of the Wiki:

It will explain it all.

Then try out the different servers until you find one you like!

Here is another wiki guide with a bit more detail for getting started:

Here is a nice list to start when considering joining a server. I don't think that all of these are still available, but many are:

You can start a server of your own, but most likely you would be much better off trying an already existing server to get the hang of things and check out what the emulator already offers. Just try out a few of the popular servers and most likely you will find one that you enjoy. You can tell which ones are decent by looking at the player numbers.

As for wanting to summon items, you might be able to find a non-legit server that is still running where you will have that option and others. The only problem is that if they offer most command access, then most likely you will be bored within an hour or so. There are only 1 or 2 long running non-legit servers that I have seen over the past few months, but I think both have been down for a bit now.

Setting up a server is pretty easy. Everything after that point for making a server is the hard part, or part where the hard work comes in.

yes really, and this forum does not support anyone stealing a copy of titanium.
