hello,

I'm having problems understanding how to get quests to work. I loaded the quests into the quests folder like the walk through explained, is there more i need to do? I have searched the forums but havent been able to locate a how to for quests. If anyone has any info on this that would rock.

I have a feeling that my second problem is right in line with quests. The soulbinders dont work--none of them.

any help with this is appreciated.

In the mean time I'll continue to look for a solution, and if by chance I find it I'll add it to this post

cheers,
BloOper

I am running PEQ 0.7.0-1119 On a Windows Server 2003

I do have active Perl installed.

if its of any concequence the Plugin.pl file is empty, Im not sure if that matters or not.

I have a feeling this is probably because you don't have the quests plugin directory setup. Basically, copy the quests/plugins directory to the main EQEmu directory.

EQEmu-0.7.0-1119 is my version.

From what I can tell the Quests are not even being loaded by the server. I do have both the plugins and quests directories in the main EQemu directory.

The quests directory has all the quests stored there, and the plugins directory only has a .keep file.

There is a plugin.pl file, is that supposed to be empty?

I downloaded George's Quest Editor, and I can see all the quests. They are in the short name of the zone they belong to directories.

thanks for your help, :-)

This sounds like it may either be an issue with how you have the directories setup in the configuration file (http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=ServerConfiguration) (eqemu_config.xml (http://eqemulator.cvs.sourceforge.net/eqemulator/EQEmuCVS/utils/defaults/eqemu_config.xml?hideattic=0&view=log)), or possibly an issue with Perl. Do you know if you can execute a simple Perl script outside of the server?

The quests directory has all the quests stored there, and the plugins directory only has a .keep file.

The plugins directory (http://eqemuquests.cvs.sourceforge.net/eqemuquests/peq_quests/plugins/) should have 4 files:

check_handin.pl (http://eqemuquests.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/eqemuquests/peq_quests/plugins/check_handin.pl)
check_hasitem.pl (http://eqemuquests.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/eqemuquests/peq_quests/plugins/check_hasitem.pl)
guildmasters.pl (http://eqemuquests.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/eqemuquests/peq_quests/plugins/guildmasters.pl)
soulbinders.pl (http://eqemuquests.cvs.sourceforge.net/*checkout*/eqemuquests/peq_quests/plugins/soulbinders.pl)

so there's definitely a problem there.

Because I was missing those 4 files under plugins it wasn't working. As soon as I put those files in, the soulbinder worked and many of the other quests in PoK :D thanks a lot!

maybe those 4 files should be added to the server setup wiki?

Thanks again,
