Support a new client version one day or we have to consider this stage as the last one with only stability updates in future?

thanks for the answer

That question has been asked a million times. The short answer is "not anytime soon". If you want more info than that, search the forums a little more and you shouldn't have too much trouble finding out. I may even have a note about it in the FAQ in my sig. If not, I might need to add that in at some point :P

The problem with EQ is the frequency of change, and expansions. If it were a simple matter of making a handfull of changes every 6 months we would be doing that... But since it requires a complete rewrite at almost every patch date, we're in a tough spot.

If Sony ever slows down the release of new content or (shutter to think it) they deside to pull EQ as a supported MMO, we might at that point be able to get our hands on a good client to use that we know won't be altered.

The other problem is that they've been adding things to the game that we can't easily copy. Instances, monster missions, spirit shrouds, all of these things plus more can't simply be turned on... they require planning, and designing that Sony has a full team of paid coders for :)

Thanks for the reply, I asked just because I noticed at some point around 2005 the new stuff seems to have been stopped to come in and was wondering what was the reason.

I played EQ in 1999 trough 2002 then again in 2005 for a short time I have almost all the expansion original boxes but I never played the real new content and was wondering if that was possible on the emulator, I understand the answer is no, at least for now :)

What is exactly the last expansion supported by eqemu since i see some zones inside the peq database that are not populated but there is there any reason for this and can they be populated (once i figure out how to make spawn) or there is any reason?

thanks

We support up through Omens of War because Titanium went that high, but the content has not been added to the databases yet. We're currently officially up through PoP, but there is a lot of activity going into the more recent expansions.

I think it's worth noting that this info, including which packages (Titanium, Anniversary, etc) include which expansions, is located in the Wiki (http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=EverQuest). Not trying to say you should have looked there, just pointing out that it's there (and wasn't exactly easy to put together )
