Ok, so heres where i need help. My mysql server lists people logging in, creating chars, and loading into PoK (where i have the start point) but never more than that. And a very good friend (who i really made the server to play with) says that he cant even connect to the server. says he gets "Server is not responding. You have been disconnected." and through a very light thinking process, i think the two might be related.

I have opened ports 5999 and 9000 in all my firewalls as the lead creator of the "raid addicts" server said i would need to do. I can connect on three different accounts, only one is GM flagged so the rest are normal accounts/players.

The server window and my database show that people ARE making chars, the list used to be just me, now there's another 5 or 6 people on the end of that, but none ever seem to leave their home zones.

Anyone have any ideas? More ports maybe?

KingMort is crazy, don't listen to him. :)

You need to open ports 7000-7999 as well. Open them as a range, and you shouldn't have this problem. Those ports (7000-7999) are for mail (unimplemented) chat (broken) and zoneservers (functional)

don't need 9000? or 5999?

and yes, he was a wonderfully nice person, but he DID seem a bit "out of touch" if you know what i mean.

he's not out of touch, just crazy. ;)

as for the ports, 5999 is needed for the LS, and 9000 is used for player <-> world connections.
