Hey, I looked around to find a similar post, but it looks like I'm alone on this one.

The problem is very specific. Whenever i zone, or even log into, a large zone such as.. dreadlands, or even gfaydark (note, this does not happen in small zones such as cities like freeport) my computer has a 50/50 chance to completely locking up during "loading zone..." bar. The bar itself only gets to about 1/3 of the way, and then the entire PC comes to a halt and I have to hit the reset button.

Does anyone have any clue what this could be related to?

I really doubt it's a video card issue, and I use the AMD dual core optimizer.

Any suggestions would be great. Thanks =)

I would first try some different video drivers. I honestly don't know if that doesn't do it. Sounds weird but also make sure your sound drivers are good. I had some bad sound drivers a long time ago and it would cause crashes at the most odd times when music wasn't even playing.

There are a bunch of possible suggestions to try in the FAQ in my sig. Running the dual core optimizer isn't the only solution for Dual Core issues, there are other things to consider trying as well.

However, if it is locking up your PC completely, then it may be another issue, as most EQ issues should just cause it to crash out, but not completely lock up your PC. It is possible that you might have a corrupt file somewhere. Or maybe you aren't giving it long enough for it to crash out. I would say try waiting 10 minutes and if it still hasn't done anything, then you know the PC is definitely locked up.

You may have a RAM issue, or it could be corrupted files or a bad hard drive or something. You could try reinstalling EQ Titanium, but make sure to remove the old one and delete the directory completely (or at least rename it) first.

thanks, will try those.

I was wondering if it's ram.. I also turned my sound off and it still happens.

If I have my speakers on, and it locks up, my speakers go BZZTTTRRRR for 1 second and then it locks up.. really weird.

oh well.
