View Full Version : Anyone know why NPC's are wearing 2 head skins???

Hi all,
I was wondering if anyone else had seen this, I did not find much in the forum about
this. I have been using the emu 0.3.4 with
just the eq/kunark pack, all seems normal.
The other day I set this up with a fully patched
Luclin Install with all the new models and skins and such. I am using lurkers pre-made database.
ANYHOOT, The weird thing is on the NPC's
sporting the new models, their heads look as if they are waering 2 skins. (SEE ATTACHED SCREENSHOT)
This looks the same if I run EQW or eqgame.exe patchme

Anyone seen this? Is there some kind of switch in
the eqclient.ini or is this somthing I would have to fix manually? OR is this a know issue I just have to live with? Any help appreciated.

I am pretty sure this has to do with the MSH data. I forget what it is exactly, but think it was using an invalid value for the lucin hairstyle. I have seen several skeletons with hair! But not just hair, but hair 2x in size and floating above the skellies head :)

Anyhow, there is a fix, it is just rather time consumoing, and tedious. With drawde's 1.0 beta out, I might try and get the MSH data updated so that it works corectly with it... But I am still finishing up something else ATM.

Hey, no worries. its still fun to play, just looks kinda funny. I just wanted to make sure this was not somthing I had done wrong in my configuration.

Ya I get the same problem with the hair floating above npc's heads, mainly wiht spawns I have created using TheClaus's spawning tool. The NPC shows up as a human but has hair floating around its head...
