Ive searched the forums but I have been unable to find any answer, I am following the tutorial to set up a windows server and I am at the part where I am installing Perl and it says :

Next type the following commands from a command prompt

ppm install DBI
ppm install IO-stringy

Ive opened up a cmd prompt and typed them in but I get a message of ppm not a recognized command. Where exactly should I be typing these commands? Sorry I do realize it is a very n00b question, much appreciated!

after you install perl, try restarting your computer. Then try the command prompt again

Seems like you got your Windows install confused with Linux - I thought 'ppm' was an option for some of the Linux distros.

If you're trying get a server running, you might want to try Leslamarch's server install (http://forums.nahunta.org/viewtopic.php?f=1&t=80), includes everthing you need, and is as easy as you can get.
Only thing is, it contains its on login server - so you would direct other players to your login server instead.
