Trouble logging into server

Hey everyone, i'm new to the emulator, but i'm an old EQ player, and i've gotta say i was pretty pumped when i heard about this. However, i've encountered a problem...i got my login and all that setup, and upon trying to connect to a server, the EQ window minimizes, and then nothing happens. Eventually I cancel out of the program by right clicking the toolbar icon and closing it, and it says the program wasnt responding. Any ideas on how to fix this? thanks for any input.

What video card are you using I have a Nvidia 6800 and had to downgrade drivers to play google will help you with your error.

Yesterday seemed to work fine for me BUT today, it seems the login server was up and down all day today mostly down. Got in maybe 10 mins. of play time from 6:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.
