I picked up the new cfgs from one of these forums. I would like to know how to activate them. Please be specific. I did install them in the cfg subdirectory of the eqemu dir. I have however seen no differance in the behavior of the game.
I have already asked about quests. I created a quest subdirectory in my eqemu dir. I read the stickys but still do not quiet understand how to creat a quest. is there a zip or something that would have the basic character start quests in it? I could learn to create quests from that.

Put the cfg files in the eqemu cfg dir, overwrighting anything already there. Your done. Unless you go to a zone that did not have a cfg file you probably won't see a differance. They are collected data from live EQ The odd safe points are aparently the same on live EQ. One way to bypass that is to set your own safe points in the DB. There are many already there, but by default the emu uses the safe points in the cfg files. To use the db safepoint data, put a new record in the variables table name=UseCFGSafeCoords value=0
For quests, while in game go to the NPC you want to have a quest. Target it, and type #npcstats In the results should be npcID So say it returned with 525 my guest might look like this:
file = eqemu\quests\525.qst
NPC_SCRIPT 525 {
trigger_text:Hail:{
FACE_TARGET
say:Hello %CHARNAME%, I am a soulbinder. I can bind you here among [other things]. Do you want your [soul bound]?
}
trigger_text:soul bound:{
FACE_TARGET
SAY:I shall bind your soul
CAST_SPELL 35
}
trigger_text:yes:{
FACE_TARGET
SAY:I shall bind your soul
CAST_SPELL 35
}
}
The only real change from the original help and samples is each npc has its own file, named with it's npcID vaule
