One of my quests requires the person to pickpocket an item, and I was wondering if there are any problems when trying to pickpocket a no-trade item.

From playing a rogue on Live, I seem to recall that only cash and tradeable items could be pick pocketed. I think there may have been other restrictions as well, but I am sure that no drop items were not pickable. Since I spent most of my time raiding, I normally didn't bother with the skill at all. The only time I really used it was while soloing and that was only to build the skill up. Normally, I remember getting mostly just cash when pick pocketing. I do seem to recall some rogue quests that required you to pick pocket an item off of certain NPCs though (maybe rogue epic 1.0).

Haha, alright. I know tradeable items can be pick pocketed because I always do it. I'll just make the item tradeable and see how it works.

I know on my server the item has to be trade-able and can't be Lore. I don't know why Lore matters but for some reason it does.

Was added overtime on live to the pickpocket code. Otherwise you could walk up and pick certain raid mobs clean. I remember a rogue in our guild picking the COF from naggy before it was implemented. He had a nice screenshot.
