I am getting a really weird issue where it appears that my character is moving in slow motion. Like, its not really laggy as in choppy, but my character just moves almost half of normal speed. Strangely it isn't all servers, but I even get it on my own server in certain zones.

there is a value in Db zone table, which determines default Run Speed in the zone- may want to check it.

You should check out the dual core fix thread, sounds like it might be something like that. You could also turn off 'new water in old zones' or something in the options menu, I found it produced some weird effects for me with the game freezing for seconds at a time.

I am still having this problem. It's more noticeable on some servers, but I am even getting it on stormhaven now whereas I used to be able to play 3 characters at once with very little lag. I have done virus and malware scans and I don't believe thats what is causing all of this

Try the FAQ in my sig. The section about dual core CPUs specifically.

In the options screen there is a FPS limiter. Could be turned all the way down.

Are you saying that the links in my sig aren't working? They work fine for me even on my iPhone.

This issue has nothing to do with the server code and is a client issue. I've witnessed such an issue before when playing in windowed mode and cycling applications heavily. The character is moving at full rate of speed in reality but frames are being drawn at 15-20FPS making seem like your creeping along. You can try some basic render troubleshooting like toggling fullscreen/windowed mode (alt+enter) when it happens. If that fixes it, you've got a background application that is causing your problem.

6.) If you are running a Dual Core CPU or Windows Vista, you will probably need to read the following post and apply at least one of the fixes listed in it: http://www.eqemulator.net/forums/showthread.php?t=25327∞
This is wrong. I don't know how many times I have to say it.
If you are running Vista, you DO NOT NEED THESE FIXES. Vista already includes these fixes natively in the OS. This fix only applies to Windows XP and Windows Server 2003.
This link (http://www.hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=983781) should clear thing up much better. :)

The compatibility mode change in Vista is definitely helpful sometimes. I have seen many people report that it resolved their issues with multi-core CPUs on Vista.

Yep - they explain it much better in the last lin I posted.
I've only had to do that once and that was back when I had WinXP installed. Ever since I moved to Vista, I didn't need it.
Can't wait for the Windows 7 RTM next week. :)
