Is there a version of the new public login server for Linux yet ? I am running the suggested version of Debian, am I going to have to run a virtual windows XP to get that working ?

You can use WINE to run it, I was doing that on a fedora-based install before I reformatted (and installed ubuntu server 8.04).

I run my PrivateLogin server using wine on gentoo linux with no issues at all.

Any special setup at all ? My dealings of wine in the past has been moving registry settings over, blah blah.....
I am going to be moving my ESXi VM over to a laptop in the next few days and the server will be running on it so I can get the quad core formatted again with Debian directly on the hardware now.

nope no special setup at all just run wine PrivateLogin.exe
I usually run it in a screen session.
Also I run gentoo so I have to compile wine from scratch and I run my server without X so I took out the X and cups use flags. So wine does not need any of the X dependencies to build.

Well I am not currently running X but I will probably run X on the new build.
