Hi,

I'm trying to connect to EQ from work

The problem is that i'm behind several firewalls

Using Putty, i've tried to open a tunnel from my local 5998 port to the latest firewall (the last one that gives access to our provider)

here is the schematic for my situation :

<my computer:10.0.0.1> |Firewall 1|Firewall 2|Firewall 3| <<< internet >>> | EQemul login server

using that command (debian firewalls) while on firewall 1

ssh -L5998:<firewall 2>:5998 <firewall 2>

then the same with firewall 3 instead of 2

But it doesn't work (no connection to login server)

Anyone in a similar situation can give me a hand ?

btw your forums dont handle UTF8 characters ? the letter that removed the end of my post was the "e" with a accent (french letter with an accent)

Most work places run a proxy and block unneeded ports. If they are blocking the port, I don't know of any way around that, and you probably shouldn't be trying to hack a way around it anyway unless you are positive your work won't care that you play EQ while you are there :P

And no, these forums do not support all character types which can cut off posts sometimes depending on what is being posted.

They will most likely care that i play EQ but i dont plan on playing hard, i just need to be able to log at lunch time to kill a given mob im camping

Anyway, you don't have more informations about the needed ports to atleast get to the login server ? It seems 5998 isn't the only one needed =/
