Not sure where to post this, but if anyone knows how to do this, it would be someone on this forum :)

Well, I tried to reinstall EQ, but now my CD4 is returning CRC errors during installation. I can't even seem to successfully make a copy of the disc. Is there any way I can extract these .cab files? Really all I need is eqgame.exe, everquest.exe and so on, I think. I am able to extract nearly all the zone and graphics data, but just need eqgame.exe. Is there any way to get it off the original CDs without installing?

Thanks...

If you legally own the software you are allowed to create a legal backup copy just in case something like this were to happen. CRC is nothing more than a error correction method and sometimes when you get read errors during installation it only happens because the drive is trying to read the disc really fast. Try creating an image of the original disc and then extract the information you need from that copy. When creating the image file use the slowest read speed possible and you may also have to alter the error correction methods used.

This article explains the legality of what I said: http://www.copyright.gov/help/faq/faq-digital.html

The copying of computer software and other forms of media can also fall under the fair use clause.
