Screen to Bright

I was wondering, is there some reason that like when I run this game my desktop's gamma or brightness gets really really bright? I have to restart my PC to get it back to normal brightness.

Everquest does that when it runs. Mine always fixes itself when I exit eq. I'd suggest the latest video drivers though. It might help.
