So confused.. Whats the deal? 2 different versions of eq needed to play?

I don't know what server to play on. And I need to order an older version of everquest I guess to play this..

I have Secrets of fayder, but its the download version of the expansion. I have the anniversary edition installed and I believe the secrets of faydwer downloaded from the regular eq servers. Can I play setup this way, or does it automatically put the new content on there allready, so I would need the boxed version?

So, what do I do? Do I need to buy secerts of fayder the boxed version and the titanium version, or which should I get? I don't really understand why I have to get 2 different versions, kind of a pain. Ideally I'd like to have the option to play on either server.

Can someone please explain what expansions are on each of the 2 servers? I ideally would like just the original everquest zones and maybe kunark and scars of vel. I don't even want to see POK! :)

There is not just a single server. The emulator is robust enough that there are themes to servers, example: Project 1999 emulate everquest with the first two expansions. Project EQ emulates live EQ. And there is a plethora of custom content servers offering a unique experience unlike live or classic.

They all are in one centralized place, the loginserver. You login to there, and it automatically detects which client you are using. Depending on what the server configured, you will have access to zones. The EQ Client in this way becomes a viewer instead of a hardcoded client like the WoW Emulators do.

Hopefully that clears up some of your concerns.

Thanks. I actually found my old Titanium version, so I'm installing now. :)

The only problem is I orderd a 2nd copy over ebay earlier today. Lol. Ah well. I'll have to try and sell that, but probably hard to sell. Bought it for 17 with shipping.
