unable to install EQ

i'm running vista basic 32, when i try to run the install for EQ it brings up installsheild error 6001. i have googled it and have been unable to resolve this issue maybe someone on here can figure it out

Are you running the install as an administrator? Did you accept the UAC prompt to allow the action? Do you recieve that error when trying to install programs other than Everquest?

In my experience, installshield errors have been the result of a corrupt install package, a corrupt windows install or registry errors.

Are you trying to install directly from the Disks, or is it a downloaded file?
