Hello ,

I just set up a new eqserver running on Windows 7 32bits quad core i7 .

This is a public server ( under dev ) and I need your help for testing my config.

Actually everything seems to run without error code.

I have just some troubles when using my laptops ( 2 ) at home.

I can play the game but when I try to #zone it takes randomly 3 to 5 minutes to reach the zone..... or I simply have a "not responding" and....disconnected

So....I would like to know if it's a problem in my LAN, Laptops wi-fi connexion , or server settings.....

It will be very nice if someone from the community try to log on my server and see what's happened when trying to #zone ......

Many thanks in advance for your help

server name is under server list " Nexus Legacy "

Take a look at the computer that is hosting the server. One of the instances of zone.exe will start to boot up a zone when you use the #zone command. If this is taking a long time (or does not happen at all) then the client will most likely be dropped.

A way around this is to boot static zones (load zone.exe with a specific zone and keep it on that one) or to use the #zonebootup command.

You can type #zonestatus to display your zone.exe instances, what number they are, and what their current zone (if any) is. The using the zone number and #zonebootup, you can pre-load a zone in game before trying to #zone.

A great thanks to you for your answer Malignus :) !

I will try to load more static zones to see if it can resolve this problem...

Anyway... Since I run my server in compatibility mode (xp sp3 ) the load time seems to be a bit faster....

Any chance to see you logged on my server to check my router/firewall connexion are working for external pepople ??? :-D

Thanks Again !

When I try to connect to 'Nexus Legacy', Wireshark shows my PC sending UDP packets to 85.3.194.191 (name = 191-193.3-85.cust.bluewin.ch) on UDP port 9000, but getting no response.

You should check you have UDP/9000 forwarded on your firewall to the internal address of your server.

Thanks Derision for your try :)

I just forwarded all required ports to my local adress Server

hope this time it will work ! ( If I can bother you for another try ... )

OK, Now I can get to Character select, so your UDP/9000 forwarding is working OK.

When I try to zone-in, I get no response on UDP/7004 (I think I was going to tutorialb).

You need to setup port range forwarding and forward UDP ports 7000 to 7100 (assuming your are not going to be running more than 100 zones at the same time) to your internal address.

OK great :D I saw your Character creation.....

One question ( I'm not a genius in network...)

On my router I must set the forwarded ports twice:

Public ports and Local ports

I can set 7000-7100 for Public ports but only port 7000 for local... Is it ok ?

You should match the public with the private ports. Public ports are on the external side of your router while private ports are on the internal side of your network.

Yes Joligario this is what I'm trying to do.....

I can set public ports 7000-7100 without problems

But when I set the same ports in local , only the port 7000 remain.
" -7100 " has been deleted after apply

Bit strange...maybe router bug.... ?

Depends on the brand. Some routers make it so you have to do 1 port at a time...

Ok.... So I have open manually port 7000-7012 UDP

Hope this time it will work ;)
