Setting up 100% PVP and PVE server since the eqemulator community lacks those...Some screenshots so far. Files will be needed to DL as everything is 100% custom... send a private msg if youd like to help test, always welcome...
majority of the classes have illusions that come hand in hand with increases stats / hp / damage modifiers / melee mitigation / mana regen ect.

He's talking about people being able to use MQ on a PVP server, really kills fairness.

im aware, but he got that from the colored target names within my screenshots, since i have mq loaded - mq wont be allowed obviously

Yes I'm sure, but you can't govern the server 24/7. Maybe if you were able to work with someone getting MQ to crash the client, I know the owner of VZ/TZ got that worked out although I know as well it was a constant struggle, I would recommend talking around for sourcing it out or making more preventative measures, it is one thing I myself need to look into yet. Although for my PVE content a lot of what you can do as a player is governed by scripts.

At this point in time i'd honestly just say give people a precompiled MQ2 build for PVP servers with a list of non-abusive plugins. Things that are detectable such as warp should be fairly easy to deal with, and that way no one has an unfair advantage over another person.
PEQ does it, though they aren't a PVP server, but the concept is something i've held onto dearly. As for plugins that do harm gameplay? Most of them are easily patched serverside... and if you give people a pre-compiled MQ2 with approved plugins it's honestly better, as people are less inclined to cheat if there's nothing to cheat with. As for macros? Restrict 1 client per IP, that's the only use I can see for macros anyway, dual boxing.
Just my two cents. Security by obscurity doesn't tend to work.
