I login, and i try to connect to project 1999 server. Or any server for that matter. And it just minimizes for a min. than when it pops back open im back at Login screen.
Ive tried matching resolutions with game and comp, and alot of other stuff. Got UiFiles from friend that it is working for.
Nothing is changing it, still does same thing. Need Help.

Im on windows vista, ive updated the graphic drivers, downloaded newest directx, im running out of things to do and want to play, anyone got any ideas?
it still does same thing.
When i get to server select screen and click play, it minimizes, than it pops back up in about 30 seconds and im back at Login screen.

In the folder you installed Everquest in, there should be a sub-folder called logs, and in that folder there will be a file called dbg.txt. Post what it contains here. It might give us a clue what is wrong, or maybe not.

there is no logs folder or a dbg.txt , i tried in search for it, nothing....

In the folder where your eqgame.exe and eqhost.txt is (which you must have edited as part of the install process to connect to Project 1999) there will be a logs folder. Maybe you need to right-click your EQ shortcut and Run As Adminstrator under Vista for it to create that folder.
If that doesn't work, I give up.

how do i get it to let me click the run as administrator button?
when i goto that spot it doesn't let me click on anything there.

it says capability modes cannot be set on this program becuase it is part of this version of windows, so it won't let me click on run program as administrator.

Are you maybe playing from a college campus or some place other than your own house where you have control of your own router and modem? You may have an issue with port 5998 being blocked.

im playing from my house on a satilite dish internet.
no other computers here.

What does a trace to the login server look like?
From command prompt:tracert eqemulator.net
You don't have to post back the results.
Anything timing out or above like 500ms? I know that latency on satellite systems can be horrific.

I'm getting Non-Responsive after I attempt to select a server. Running Vista, tried all resolution modes, running RunFirst and EQPlayNice. At one point I received a message saying "An error occurred..." but haven't since been able to duplicate that response. My ports are open. I'm running out of ideas.

I even tried comp at someone else's house with cable internet rather than my satelite. and it does the same thing, so it has to be something with my comp.
please someone give me an idea to try.

I've done a fresh install on another PC, this one running XP, and I get the exact same issue. I get to server select and lock up after attempting to login to any server. Last line of dbg.txt remains the same:

Dream_Master, which client version are you running, and did you install it directly from the retail discs? The reason I ask is because your earlier debug shows this:

As far as I know, none of the EQEmu compatible clients were built on that date. What is that, Anniversary Edition?

im having this same issue.
can start game fine,
login fine,
browse server selection fine.
as soon as i go to select a server screen goes black and game is now not responding.
am currently using vista 64bit. have tried all the fix's in the dual core thread.
have also tried using win eq.

Bare with me as I am new to these kind of things. I seem to be having the same problem with getting stuck on the log in screen. Any help would be great.
