I'm sorry if this has been covered somewhere before, I looked around but did not see anything.

I would like to have characters on PEQ and Project 1999 and play on both servers, but it looks like 1999 has a bunch of custom files I need to install.

Will installing these files prevent me or hamper my play on PEQ server?
Can I skip installing these files and still play on the 1999 server?

I know that some of it is effect graphics for spells, I'm not really sure what else changes, but I'd really like to be able to use and enjoy both servers if possible. If it is not possible I guess I'll just have to pick one.

Thanks in advance for any advice.

the PEQ uses the standard set of files
the P99 uses the "classic" spell data, which is not compatible with pretty much any other server. And these files are mandatory to have if you want to have a bug-free playtime.

So if you want to play on both, my best advice is to make a copy of your EQ folder, to have one for peq, and one for p99

Thanks, that is exactly what I needed to know.
