Whatever happened to gnomish proving grounds?

It used to be a popular progression server, no i see 0 people online at all times, of course when i decide i think i want to try it, its dead ahaha

I'm really hoping it comes back with a new start it was such a fun server. It was classic style with out being brutally hard.

After all of the Gnomes in the Gnomish Proving Grounds have proved themselves, they reroled as Ogres, and and renamed the server as the Ogre Stomping grounds :D

haha im chilling at HF right now (haha sig joke :]) but if gpg makes it come back i might head there haha
EDIT: It looks like they did a backup to velious era, but still no one is ever on or playing...

I was the one running GPG. We decided to take the server down for a little bit to correct issues with the database, spell file, and ease of upgrading. Everything was patched together due to it being the first server Tiny and I had set up, and that made expanding into newer content, and keeping up with changes to eqemu a real pain in the butt.

Currently I'm working on rebuilding the server, it should be up again in a few weeks. Tiny currently put up a backup velious database for his own nostalgia purposes.

GPG was fun as hell while it lasted. Inti and I would perhaps make a return if the server went back to Kunark/Velious.

anyone know why the return of GPG has yet to happen?
