Can't create a character!?

I can log in servers , but i can't create a character....
Can someone help me please ? Thanks

What happens when you try and create a character, i.e. do you get any error messages?

Also, what version of the EQ Client are you using ? In the folder where EQ is installed, you will have a sub-folder called logs. In this sub-folder will be a file called dbg.txt.

The first line of dbg.txt will have the 'build date' of the client, e.g.


2010-08-21 20:34:35 Starting EverQuest (Build Oct 31 2005 10:33:37)

There may also be some error messages at the bottom of that log which may help diagnosing the problem you are having.

The clients supported by EQEmu will have one of the following build dates:

6.2 (Build Aug 4 2005 15:40:59)
Titanium (Build Oct 31 2005 10:33:37)
SoF (Built Sep 7 2007 09:11:49)
SoD (Built Dec 19 2008 15:22:49)
Underfoot* (Built Jun 8 2010 16:44:32)


Some servers don't support all of those clients, but PEQ (The Grand Creation) should allow you to create characters with any of them.

I didn't get any error message.
When i loged in server and show the character window no character there , but i select create a new character didn't work , nothing happen just a empty window and create a new character ,delete a character ,enter world and quit ......
Nothing happened when i select create new character .

I got starting Everquest message in dbg.txt
It shows evertime when i did open the game .

I didn't install the game from dvd .
I got SOD 1 year ago , i did download from SOE server.
Is it work ? Or it needs to install from dvd ?

The only SoD version that works is the one downloaded from Steam that says

in dbg.txt when you run it.

There is no DVD release of SoD, it was available by digital distribution only. The only versions available on DVD that will work are Titanium and Secrets Of Faydwer.

From your description of your problem, it sounds likely that your version of SoD is not the same as the one that we support, i.e. it is an older or newer build with slightly different opcodes.

You don't need to install multiple clients, just one. Currently, all of the clients compatible with EQEmu include all previous expansions to them. So, you need to install Titanium (from CDs) or SoF (from CDs or DVD) or SoD (only available from illegal download) or Underfoot (from Steam's Everquest Starter Pack download). Any one of those 4 will work fine. You can buy the discs for Titanium or SoF online if you can find them, or you can buy Underfoot from Steam and download it. The SoD client is the best one IMO, but it is only available via illegal downloads now, which is unfortunate.

I did download Unerfoot from Steam .
I can log in server and create a character , but no character img there and when i enter world it will back the window you need to type USERNAME and PASSWORD everytime i tried the same if changed login server .....
