Letting you all know, connecting to their servers works fine except for the LD's every 10secs because they are using a DSL to run servers? Anyway, LAN server doesnt work either..trying to run it under win98 for the past week and i got the server and minilogin runing up fine! but when you click on play, it gets 1017 error stating that you need to patch everquest again. I tried everything, from even formatting my HD to just updating eq without luclin, and not updating at all. None of which works.

then i tried running public login and tryed to get that up and running. whoever wrote that readme in that zip file surely didnt know what he was typing. Made no sense and it didnt even loggin to the login public server when i tried booting it. I followed all directions:mad: and now im jsut going to hope for the best when trying to join other servers that disconnect every 10secs and dont save yor characters. If anyone could help me try and get the LAN or public server login to work id greatly appreciate it. Anyone who got it working before?..respond to this thread and tell me what im doing wrong. You guys are doing a great job, but dont release the stuff until it works properly (LAN)

minilogin works fine
supports only me though no other LAN users
public login crap isn't viable yet

re-download eqemu version 3.7
in the documents folder once unzipped is a readme.html file
follow the first few lines then JUMP/SELECT the link that says how to connect using MINILOGIN

everything works if you follow that readme

oh other thingy.......

once you've done all that if for some reason you can't login use FQAdmin tool and create an entry for eqemu with password of eqemu

worked for my system at work, needed to do it because I tried hosting a server on eqemu.net(behind a router) first and Furbarred my .ini files(no internet play(your OWN server if your on a LAN) dickin around trying to tinker with stuff and the database.

Thanks man, but i did follow all the steps..still same 1017 error when i click on play. Although i was experimenting this morning with the server program..i noticed when i had it running, i got the same error (1017) trying to connect to regular hacker servers. i disbled it and it conencted fine. Theres something wrong with the MYSQL server program and it making it have this error. If there was just a way i could disable this program and make it just run from my computer.....
