It just says "legit" or whatever on the server info pages, is there any way to tell what rates the exp is? Are any set at 1x?

Based on how the code actually works and the rules that govern exp rates, a setting of 1X doesn't necessarily mean the server is 1X the exp rate of EQLive. I think Live is probably more in the range of 0.4 or maybe 0.5 or so. So, if they have their exp rates rule on the server set to 1, it is probably closer to 2X Live or higher. For servers that boast 2X or 4X or whatever, I am not quite sure where they are getting that exact EQLive multiplier, or if they are just basing that on what their rule is set to. If they are set to 2X or higher, the exp rates would be pretty insanely fast and you could probably reach max level of the server within a day or so.

Some servers list exp rates in their server name on the server list, but not all do. I assume that nearly all EQEmu servers are running noticeably faster than EQLive experience rates. Even PEQ which tries to emulate Live is running at a bit of an accelerated exp rate. My guess is that P1999 is probably the only server that is running EQLive exp rates, but it is probably running exp rates from 1999, which was slower than what EQLive exp rates are today as far as I know offhand.

My suggestion would be to try out some of the servers that have a fair number of players on them and make a kill or 2 and you will quickly be able to tell how fast the exp rates are. If you get 3 levels from your first kill, you know exp rates are high lol.

important thing to take into account, if mobs have been adjusted up and down, and if players get significant starting gear, as it will heavily impact downtime and actual speed of leveling, regardless of what XP is set to
