Hey all, new here. I've searched for my exact problem and couldn't find it and I'm seriously fiending for some EQ :D
I followed http://www.eqemulator.net/wiki/wikka.php?wakka=Windows absolutely 100% but as soon as I run the .bat that I copied/pasted World.exe force closes. It crashes when I run it from command prompt or from the folder. ..did I somehow wind up with a corrupted/broken version of the file? Running Rev 1741 with bots. Any help would be greatly appreciate.
I'm headed to work right now but I'll be back tonight to be able to give more info if needed..just hoping someone has a magic fix off the top of their head
Thanks :)

Run it from a cmd prompt so you can see any errors it might print out, and look at the logs it writes. Chances are one of those will lead you in the right direction to fixing the problem.

It didn't give any errors from cmd prompt, just a windows exception error and won't load. I couldn't find a log, where does it save them?

Logs are generally in the logs directory under where your world.exe is. If that directory does not exist, you should create it.

That's all I have and all it shows is that World.exe isn't running. No idea why it won't launch. Running Win 7 64 pro. Ran it as admin, didn't help. No antivirus or firewalls are running.

Nobody else has had this problem? Are other people using Win 7 64?

I use Win7 64 bit and have no trouble.
If I had the same problem and logs weren't helpful, I would run it under the debugger to catch the crash. You'll need to set the proper path for it and such, so hopefully you are familiar with how to do that in Visual Studio.
Short of that, double checking all the steps again would be a place to start.

No idea how to do that with Visual Studio :\
And I redid it twice with that guide and once with another and World.exe still crashes. Tried different revisions both times to no avail.
