New to EQemu, need some help plz

Hello all,

first of all i am sorry if i am posting in the wrong place. I don't speak english very well (i'm french) so i have difficulties to find some information on existing posts.

I am new to EQemu and i want to have a personal EQ server to play with my wife.
I bought the downloadable version of Underfoot on steam but it is telling me that i need to connect to an existing EQ account to upgrade the game.

What do i have to do exactly to have the game on my computer and start to make a personal server?

In the play guide, you'll want to take note of how to set up your eqhost.txt file to connect to the correct server and to set up your eqgame.exe shortcut to not patch from SOE's servers.

In the server guides, you just kind of have to fiddle around until you get it working... they all are either a little unclear in parts or incomplete or outdated. Ask questions if you can't figure something out.

Ok, i am able to play on my own server and i'm enjoying it a lot.

However i have some problems :

-I bought Underfoot client but it seems that i don't have all the content on my server.

-I don't have SoF and further expensions Zones

-Lots of AA's don't appear

-No items from SoF and further expensions in database

-I can't find Epic weapons in database (the npc in dranik for berserk epic 2.0 final turn in is not in the quest folder)


Any idea of how i can resolve some of those problems?

1. Even with the most recent database you will only have content halfway through Gates of Discord. Anything past that has not been completed yet. That leaves you with two choices…be patient and wait till it is done or implement it yourself. Don’t take that the wrong way as I know it probably came off a bit on the blunt side.

2. If that was a reference to missing zone maps then you can find them here: http://eqemumaps.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/Maps/
If you were referring to the zero expansions available at the server select screen then don’t worry about it doesn’t mean a whole lot. For most other issues you likely need to update your database. You can download the latest database from here: http://projecteqdb.googlecode.com/svn/trunk/

3. A lot of AA’s have not been implemented yet so what you are seeing is normal.

4. Missing items is a database issue. Update your database using the link provided above.

5. As far as I know epic weapons are in the database but the quests for epic 1.5’s and epic 2.0’s have not been completed yet.

I appreciate the great job done on working expensions and i understand it takes time to add the expensions after GoD.

Do you have any idea of where in Database i can find the epics?

I also learned that in GM mode you can do "#itemsearch nameofitem" in order to get the item ID.

All items from GoD to Underfoot expensions are in database so you can summon them or add them as a mob loot.


I have a last question for now. I can't send tells to my wife's character except from the GM account. Do you know what i have to do?

That is a anti spam feature that was put in to keep new or just annoying people from going onto a server then spamming text to a zone or individuals. By default you need to reach level 10 to be able to talk in ooc or send tells.

You can bypass it by setting the karma field to 720 in the account table for your login. I think it can be turned off completely by setting Chat:EnableAntiSpam to false in the rule_values table.
