Yup im a noob,
Is there a guide on placing static objects and where to get the static object ID's.
I have searched and read all the posts i could find on object placement.
The implementation of the commands for objects is in the game now.(awsome)
The problem is i use the commands and #object List all only returns Tradeskill objects,no static objects at all!
If i dont know the static objects name and ID,how do i find it?
example:
my server is running and i'm logged on to it from same computer,useing my SoD client.
I'm in cabeast standing infront of that darn ladder on the second floor of where all the shaman gms are.
You take the red portal on the right or left side after entering the room where all the shaman gms and spell sellers are.
(I'm pretty sure it used to pop you up not to just the second floor as it does now,but to the next floor up in the room above
that darn ladder where the 2 red return portals are.)
It pops you up to the next floor on the landing just outside where the
shadownight and beastlord GM's are standing on either side of THAT darn ladder.
I'm wanting to use the object commands to move that darn ladder off the wall and turn it around,to place it 180 degrees within that same hole.
Or at least place a new ladder there just on the opposite side of that opening.
(or find a way to move the spawn point from the bottom floor red portals upto the room above that darn ladder,where the other 2 red return portals are.
I'm not that savvy yet either.)
There are other ladders in the zone that need this change as well.
I have used georgs's model viewer to see the objects in the zone,but just the model viewer part works.
i get an error if i try to load the whole zone with mobs and all,about my client doesn't support password authentication protocall,
try a newer version of mysql or such.But that view i assume would not show the object id's.
I can load the zone offline without mobs and view the whole zone no prob. But that don't help much on what i'm trying to do.
The model viewer only uses the .s3d file not the .eqg file,so i don't know if the .eqg file shows actual object id's and not just the model name i got from the .s3d viewer.
the viewer showed only one matching ladder and it was named LADDERCB101_DMSPRITEDEF. I know there are more than one of that same ladder in the zone.
I tried useing that ladder name with the object commands and got nowhere.
I'm guessing since it's just the model name not the actual model number i'm really kinda stuck here.
How do we find the acctual model name and id number? It's got to be in the zone already since it's being used there.
I read a post from angelox about him putting objects into the tutorialb,like the spikes. I tried to use the numbers he posted about the spikes to go
into the tutorialb and move or manipulate them with #object commands but to no avail.
I'm hopeing for those in the know to help set up a guide for static objects.
How to find there names and id's.How to get them into the zone or .s3d or .eqg file, or onto the assests_txt file,or into the global file
or on the ground spawn file or in the object table in the db or whatever method works best to get them into the zone and available for useing the
#object commands.
It would be a huge help to us newbs starting out on world building.
I'm not sure what way would be used so you could manipulate and place objects in game real time without the zone out, repop, zone in deal and
if you could do it without haveing to ask all clients to download a file so they can see the changes.
I'm pretty sure that's what you are all trying to do anyway.
since i'm a newb i hope you can forgive me if you have already done a guide like this and i have just been unlucky in my search effort to have not found it.
