Okay now I'll admit I pay $5/month for Transgaming WineX. Why? I felt that it was money well spent and it looks like it definately was worth it. EQ will now work with the new WineX 2.2. Here is the article that was on /.

I am going to give it a shot and see how well it does work. This is going to give me the leverage to move off of windows for good.

EQEMu runs better off of Windows than Linux :) (Theres a few reasons right now, and there will be another reason in the next release) :)

Why is that? Why does the emulator run better off windows than linux. Is it a programming aspect or something else.

the code is realy optimized for windows.. image is right..next release you will want windows!

As for wineX i have 2.2 (downloaded from CVS) however its not working for me on my mandrake 9 box. screen flickers get to char select screen hit enter and then nothing...lol even locks the system up,

dev are you using the kernel that came with Mandrake or the one that came from kernel.org. They said that it has issues with the Redhat and Mandrake kernels and to just use the kernel.org kernels. It is sad to see this go for windows. I really enjoyed it under linux.

I don't think image meant the linux version was going away, just that some improvements in the performance of the windows version have been coded. http://forums.eqemu.net/showthread.php?s=&threadid=3666
