I did a search on this and didnt find anything.

I am not that experienced in networking, so I am wondering if this would be possible. Could I run the server on my Computer AND run EQ, then have another computer connect to that server? I basically want to play EQ with one of my friends in an Offline environment using 2 computers.

Thanks in advance for any replies. :)

It is very possible as that is what I run all the time.

What you need to decide is whether to use the EQEmuLoginServer.exe or the mini-login. I recommend the LoginServer
because it's easier to get working and is still being supported. (LoginServer uses user/password and mini uses ip address.)

Once you decide that, it's just a matter of setting up your config files properly and possibly a few router tweaks.

Could you tell me how? Btw I have my computers connected with an Ethernet Cable.

So, no router and you're using a cross-over cable?
(If you connect LAN card to LAN card, you need a special cross-over cable and not a regular patch cord. This special
cable has the TX & RX pairs reversed on one side and will be marked by 'crossover' or 'X' somewhere on it. They're
pretty cheap if you don't have one..cheaper than a cheap router.)

Can your computers already talk to each other?

Do you have a working solo server now and just want to and LAN support?

If you haven't set up your server yet, I think Huppy's guide is the one most used.

I think this is the most recent one:

You will need to do everything as you normally would with the exception of how to configure your server. I haven't used this
particular guide, but I see most people with questions are. (There's a few things that I do differently, but I don't want to
confuse the matter any more than I usually do...)

That's a lot of work so far..post back with where you stand in the process.

well actually I just have a PEQ repack installed on both machines, would there be any way for them to play with each other?

Also I AM using a crossover cable, and they can communicate. I would really like to be able to do this with just the repacks, I have limited internet access and downloading all of those files would be a pain, but I am not that experienced in this field, so I might be dreaming that this would be possible lol.

Hey, Max. Add me to google talk, akaishigpg@gmail.com.

I can walk you through the steps to setup a server, and eqemu loginserver, and also have it LAN accessible.
