Ok,
I went into variable in the DB and set the Epantions to 0.
Went into rule_values and set World:ExpansionSettings to 0.
Even tried going into ruletypes.h and setting Expantions to 0 then compiled.
My account status is set to 0.
No matter what I can still go into like the PoP expantion and all the other Expantion objects are there. I still have access to all the other expantions. The only thing it did change is the graphics to classic (Titanium) and limited the class/race combinations.
I remember the last time I was playing with this a few years ago that when I changed those settings it actualy made like the PoP books go away and made it where I couldn't access the other expantion zones.

Did I do something wrong or am I missing something?

well the PoP books will not magically disappear because of the setting - they would need to be manually removed.
I am not sure if expansion setting suppose to prevent zone access, but the expansion setting is mostly a signal for the Client which races/classes to allow and whenever turn on Luclin models.

How would you go about removing the PoP books or things like that? are they in the DB someplace.. considered an NPC?

they are Doors/portals =)

here they talk how to delete them, but you can also simply DISABLE them by changing the Open type so its non clickeable (check wiki)
