A brief rundown:

-Level 70 cap
-Every item in the game can be traded and/or sold.
-Server has a heavy emphasis on money and it IS important.
-Classic-PoP content complete. Some random GoD - OoW content is in also.
-Items not attainable within completed content will eventually be available by custom means, whether it be plat, quests, raid drop, etc.
-Very little custom content for the time being. I'm currently working on the armor sets following the PoP sets. What I probably will do is use armor already in game until I run out and use custom content to afford availability for the post-PoP gear that is already in the database.
-Players will have the ability to solo to max level no matter what class they choose.
-Players will start in a convenient location, with starting materials.
-No donations will be accepted at this time, but if you log on and give some feedback via petition/feedback, or even this post, it is greatly appreciated.

Server goes live this morning before I leave for work. I'd really enjoy seeing some players on when I return!

I had a few people log in, though I'm not sure what all they were able to do.

Did you make it to the character select screen or just fail to hit my server from the serverlist? (my network or something silly I've overlooked)

It looks like the "timelaston" for all other characters that were made = 0 which doesn't bode well for connectivity either.

I can connect to it as a client from each PC and laptop in the house including the host, but I suspect that is because we're sharing the network even though I am definitely hosting the server on the eqemulator.net login.~ I may sneak a laptop onto a neighbors wi-fi, or the next time I take it to work attempt to try to connect to it from an outside network.

I'm on at seemingly random hours, but I do tend to pop into #eqemu to see if anyone is awake to discuss things with me in terms of development processes, but maybe some friendly-devs or players from other servers who have the time can possibly assist me in constructing this server as a solid sandbox for people who enjoy the style of server.

By the time this is read by anyone other than me I will have altered the OP to say the following:

The server only supports Titanium, or SoF. Incredibly important and I completely forgot like a nubz0r.

This is a preference.

Tried logging in tonight using the titanium client and it wouldent even load me into the character select.

Server is fixed. Outside connections can now enjoy my sandbox. Please try again, and give out some feedback! I prefer /petition (i can read it in sql - easy ) or by comments here. I don't have a webpage yet, but I'm taking it one step at a time. Now that I have the server functioning properly and allowing other to connect, I am only working on things to make it better from this point.

This server sounds like everything I would want. I can't log in with Titanium and I don't have SoF. Is the server still running and even more important- will it have a decent life span? I ask this because when I find a server outside of the norm, it usually disappears after a month or two.

I have had about ~50ish characters to play so far, and roughly 15-20 IP's or so have connected. Everything seems fine for me using Titanium client. I even took my laptop to work and played from the network there, so I know people can connect. If you're having an issue it would be something client-side.

The guy playing on it at the moment is telling me he has a straight-out-of-the-box copy of titanium, and he has been having success for quite some time now.

To address the question about how long the server will be around:

As long as I have an internet connection, and an up-speed that is decent enough to allow others to connect, the server will be up and running taking requests and feedback at all times.

My E-Mail is posted up above so if you want immediate contact/resolution to an issue you're more than welcome to use it.

Sorry for an additional post.

I log in, check the server stats, look at recent activity, talk to anyone playing at around 6-7p.m. EST M-F. Basically, after I get off work. I check my E-Mail about 15 times a day, so if there is anything I can do to help (perhaps troubleshoot connectivity issues) my availability is posted.

Correct, you will absolutely NOT be able to connect without a Titanium client, which is easy to find if you use your favorite search engine.

There is reasoning for this, though.

I really enjoy classic-PoP. It is and has been my favorite time period in EQ1 since I started, which was when I was 11, and has since been a big part of my life, especially this particular time period in EQ history.

My mission is simple. Classic EQ-PoP will be perfected with the option of bots, and a little custom content here and there in addition to particular quests being simplified(Velious faction armor as an example.) I want there to be an economy, and I would prefer the server itself to be known as a "plat-based-server" as I have made adjustments for it to be described as such.

GoD armor sets are now available by means of plat. They reside in a location to be known for merchants selling wares. I have implemented Leet augs as well, but you get to find them for yourself, and no hints will ever be given about it.

OoW armor sets should be available by the end of the evening.

I am taking the route of armor sets being purchaseable (prices based on tier leading all the way to the final armor set in the current item database) and having bosses (first come, first serve in terms of expansion and effort respectively) Any bosses that are currently in the database and spawn appropriately will be tuned, and will have correct loot tables, save any armor set mats, and things of that nature. (Anguish as an example. Ture, OMM, AMV, etc will have loot tables for weapons, jewelry, odds-and-ends, and Tacvi for weapons, special visible armor pieces, augs)

I'm thinking that most post-PoP quests rewards (DoD class specific reward pieces from vish+yar'lir piece quest as an example.) will be sold on merchants as well.

The armor set merchants will all be located in the same place. The boss loot that isn't assigned to some sort of post-PoP custom content (as in the DoD class specific reward mentioned above) will be hidden throughout the world.

This is basically your PowerGamer server, though with my own little twists. If you recall me asking for your PG DB via e-mail a few months ago, this is the result of you not being able to find a copy. Your pricing script came in handy in a super great way, though.

AxClassic put together the launcher, and GUI that I use for server hosting(which allows me to carry around a portable server on my laptop which is ready to go for LAN play which comes in handy when friends wanna get together and group lower guk) and allows a super easy setup on the normal, and more permanent host as well.

Basically this whole Sandbox idea has become a reality for me by AxClassic on the software side (along with EVERYONE from PEQ) and Dav00d for the idea of a plat based progression server with a classic vibe and bots.

You deserve the thanks I'm giving, good sir.

It is obviously still a work on progress, but it will be my version of that server
and some different tweaks.

No. I don't have that ability at this particular time. It is being looked into and worked on, but I'm not sure at what pace as it's handled through AxClassic. Once they update their repack to automatically support SoD/UF/etc I will have it updated on my server.

Download titanium. It's tiny. It's easy to find. You will NOT be unsatisfied with the server.

Updates: (Since I'm using this as my update/changelog until I can figure out how to host a webpage with said information on it)

Armor merchants in Bazaar are complete (some of the armor on the merchants are still in progress - mostly caster stuff and foci)

Discs are going to be removed from the npc which provides them to you. Certain disciplines will be available shortly and they will be usable by the appropriate classes, i.e. Evasive will be War/Pal/SK and a clicky with a reasonable recast delay.

Enchanter's are fixed. They do not suck here. You have the ability to charm pretty much any mob in the game (minus the obvious types of mobs you aren't going to be able to charm) at a certain point, and depending on how good you are, can really destroy some stuff. Once I get some feedback about it I will then begin my work on Mages, then Necros, etc.

Something that seems to have been only implied (in some of my earlier poorly written posts) and ultimately not made as a key point in the difference between my server and someone else's.(anyone):

My server is economy-based. Everything that is not attainable via content already in the game with the current version of the peq db that I'm using is available for money. Most things are convenient (hub zone is pok(instead of nexus) and main market area would be in Bazaar) but the custom things are right in front of you as soon as you log in. ALSO EVERYTHING has a price. Every single item in the game you could possibly think of and it's in my DB, it has a price that is linear to the quality of gear.

As I progress in putting the content that is not there in place, with assigned loot tables, spawn times, etc, The merchants that sell the gear that was previously unattainable without buying it will be removed from the market area. Players have a big role in forming the economy with certain items which will ultimately be the balancing structure (aside from being in control of how much plat is actually on the server).

For the most part (in case it was not previously mentioned) I'm okay with 3rd party programs. As long as you're not having a negative effective on others around you, or causing my hardware to malfunction (crashing zones purposely, etc) then we are good to go. I welcome anything that makes the game easier, or more fun for you.

With this being written, I'm currently looking for someone to point me in the right direction to know how to host a simple webpage(preferably a forum probably) that gives me the ability to make a post with a changelog in it that I can keep track of and players can follow along and discuss certain changes.

Feedback is appreciated and welcomed. Good or bad! Post it here or petition in game so I can see it while I'm away from the host.

Last night I went through kael, skyshrine, and Thurgadin and changed the quest npc's, turned them into merchants, and made the merchants sell the respective class specific armor.

Otherwise, whenever AxClassic makes their whole installer/setup inclue SoD or UF I will post it here, update my server, and let you all rune loose.

People do seem to like it, thankfully, I just wish more played!

Do so :) it will be worth it, Alot of work is going into the server and Leet is open to suggestions on ways to constantly improve!

he's spent countless hours doing spells/armor progression etc.

Kael/Thurg/Skyshrine armor now available with quest mobs now vendors selling completed peices from 1k-13k or so which will really help new players hit the ground running.

Many tweeks in epics are happening.

Epic 1, is available for 0 at level 1, (including procs/clicks)
Leetsauce charm available at level 1 for 0. (Gate clicky and great stats)
Leetsauce Pack is very handy at 1000pp (reduces weight of coin, a MUST, you will be collecting many thousand PP)
Skills and spells available with just a 'Hail'

Heres a suggestion on level progression, I used a x2 Pal x2 Zerk x1 Shaman Bot team up until 60 or so.

1-10 Crushbone
10-20 Runnyeye
20-30 SolA
30-40 SolB / Crystal Caverns
40-50 Sebilis / Velketor / Karnor
50-55 Howling Stones / Kael / Temple Veeshan
55-60 Temple Veeshan / Kael / Perhaps Sleepers (nice PP loot)
60-70 Pofire / Bastion of thunder / Vex Thal / Ssra temple / Time

AA Farming - Using Lesson of the Devoted, Hack through the Potime Phases, or send your bots wild in Riftseekers for upto 140AA's in 30minutes or so.

Ive been around since very early. alot has changed, still ALOT more to achive!

Find myself, Artful in game, and ill no doubt help you out some :)

Not just to bump, but also to share some recent happenings with the server:

Spells are being revamped, and balanced. Cleric, Paladin, Sk, and every discipline spellset is done and as always everything else is ALWAYS a work in progress. Warrior/Sk/Pally get Defensive/Evasive at 52. These disciplines have been altered to make them a little less OP(comparatively to most servers where I have used the discs) Most cast times on most spells, and disciplines, I foresee each class casting will have a very low cast time, and anything that had a longer recast time than 10 minutes was dropped to 10, including timers for things like Harm Touch and Improved Harm Touch and Lay on Hands and Improved Lay on Hands(yes you can change aa recast timers and have it work appropriately, just takes some time digging through the DB). The values of each of those 2 skills listed above have been drastically altered to make it worthwhile to press the button every 10 minutes (which is what the recast timer is on HT/LoH - obviously I liked eq2 Harm Touch more than eq1's version) Ideally x class will be able to do as much damage and/or heal as y class as long as they're similar in level, and gear across the board while at the same time maintaining their own class specialties as most things here archetypal. The trickier of the spell revamps will be things that are not directly related to nuking or healing. Dots and hots have their own formula as opposed to a similarly leveled instant heal or nuke. Foci will be after I finish all class spells / discs. There will be 100% mods(i.e. 100% heal focus for instant heals only, 100% fire damage focus for instant, and then one for fire dots, etc) to spells eventually while keeping in mind this is a level 70 cap server. Then I will do pets (once I figure out how to do it like Hunter did it) Some refinement will take process in between steps and during.

Prices are being changed on a few odds and ends and epics, etc. Epics(1.5+) are way underpriced and will be revamped and repriced. 1.0 are decent and put you at a decent starting point along with the gate charm I have given.

Back to the spells for a sec, I have a custom spell file(visit my forum and register) but was originally the out of the box copy of titanium's spell file which means (I believe, unless I convert to SoF spellfile(which I'll do research on first before asking questions or performing actions) that I am limited to how many spells I can have in my spells.table. Therefore I'm working with a limited workspace with limited material, but I WILL make this happen exactly as I'm explaining.

Enough on that. I post changelogs almost daily on my forums which are at:

You should come give this server a shot. It gives the sense of accomplishment like back in the olden days for me. (love using olden in a sentence, correctly or not) I also like the fact that I get that "Selling Thurgadin faction monk suit of armor at t2(or in modern days diamond hub of red side of bazaar)

I always appreciate any and all feedback and I think most people who have played and are willing to post could and would attest to that, so if you end up giving it a shot, and finding something that you don't like about the server - WE will figure out a resolution together.

P.S. I do not condone using 1 set of zones to do leveling in(He made a pretty good road map for you though imo). I called it Sandbox originally because I want it to be exactly that. I want people to grind or farm or both where ever their heart tells them to, but occasionally stumble over a person selling good armor, or finding an item worth tons of money so they can go to the market to purchase newer/better armor.

Custom content: There is a little. Decently tuned (wish people who played would give me more feedback about custom post-PoP content I have created so I could make it better/more user friendly (mostly GoD - OoW, but most do not know which zones I am ever working on)

Post-PoP zones with crazy xp mods will be toned down. So for existing players: you better farm while you have the chance, because it will not be that good ever again. 420aa's, though I enjoy the number, per hour is a bit crazy.

With that being stated: some things like epics, xp rates, xp bonuses, etc are going to be modified probably in a downward motion (slower xp). The trick here is to make it fast enough to keep you interested during those hell levels, but making it to where you can't go from level 1 to max everything in a week.

I would like to see a 24 hour playtime to get from 1 to 70, but that may be teetering on one side of the balance listed above.

Just wanted to bump this and let everyone know server is back up, stable, and better than before.

Everything is a bit more balanced.

I feel like I lost a lot of the interest in playing on the server when the host-PC went kapoot, so I figured bumping this to let everyone know that we are good to go on all fronts was a good idea.

P.s. download the spellfile if you play. You won't be disappointed.
