View Full Version : EQ Directory?

This may be a silly question but just to give a brief background.

I just downloaded EQF2P RoF from steal (Yes I know EQEMU does not support this yet.) But I'm not the most computer savvy and wanted to at least attempt to set it up for when it is updated and I can login.

Anyway, I downloaded it and I can run the game through the shortcut it installed on my desktop (I didn't run it as to not patch it.) But now I'm trying to change the information in my "EQ Directory" as the tutorial said, but I cannot find the directory. Is that an issue with downloading it through steam?

I'm sorry if this is a silly question but any help would be appreciated, again I know it won't work just yet if I do figure it out.

Thanks all.

Steam\steamapps\common\Everquest F2P

You do not want to run it from there. You want to make a copy and a backup elsewhere, then use that copy.

Wherever you installed steam, then \SteamApps\common\XXXX

So if you installed Steam in C:\Games, it would be:

C:\Games\Steam\SteamApss\common\XXXX

Default dir is in Program Files I believe by why would anyone want to install any game related material in a windows protected directory structure, especially if they intend to mod it?? /rant off, btw not directed at you mvp, just ranting....
