is there a way to just completely turn UCS off? or at least to not get the constant "trying to connect" message?

You don't need to run the UCS server, the client will still try to connect to it though.

yeah i wanted it to not even try to connect.. i didn't know that was purely client side.

guess i'll just set it up and run it so i don't have to see the messages.. thanks.
