Hey I'm looking for someone who is interested in modifying the peq database with me to as classic as we can get and eventually probably be made public. If interested let me know. No experience with eqemu or coding necessary just a passion for classic eq

Are you planning to open a server?

I have one open already that i've been working on making a classic database for. The server has custom mechanics for solo play as well as much added classic mechanics through its source but the idea is to get the database classic and compatible with a default source. I do not have any plans to open a normal classic server like p99, the goal is really to make it easier for anyone to have their own classic emu to work with to make whatever kind of classic server is desired.
Currently i'm going through each zone and sifting through it all removing nonclassic items/npcs and making better adjustments to drop chances. If its just me working on the database then i am not going to stress over making it 100% classic in regards to some trivial things but I plan to have at least all npc spawns/items/spells/quests (spells are already finished for the most part). If anyone else jumps on board and is serious about making a classic db then we can go more in depth if thats decided.
Originally this was what the "epicemu" server was claiming they were going to do and while they did release a bunch of useful changes, they never released their database for whatever reason.

you could probably start out from this: http://www.peqtgc.com/phpBB3/viewtopic.php?f=67&t=14152 which had been using a collecting tool to collect data from eqmac itself. The quests there are tweaked to fit more to that era. Only thing that is lacked is roaming and grid. but most cities and a few starting area already has them. Lot of items are removed that are not from the 2002-2003 era.
The client emu code still needs work but is in playable state. ATM, you can't sell items to the merchants and a few other things.
